One to try on Exmoor is the strategically-placed Rambler's Rest at County Gate, which has just re-opened again. It's worth checking the Facebook page as it was closed in the summer due to staff shortages.
Boevey's at Simonsbath has also re-opened and is worth a visit, though it will be closed November to February inclusive.

Boevey's has closed again for the winter and the current operators have given up the lease. Hopefully someone else will take it over ready for the spring.
At Lee Bay (west of Ilfracombe, not the Lynton Lee Bay) the National Trust have taken over the car park and are planning to open a cafe in spring 2027.
