Walk - Kingcombe - John
SUNDAY.
Starting from The Dorset Wildlife Trust’s Kingcombe Centre; experiencing the wonderful wildlife, unimproved fields, hilltop & valley views of this quiet corner of Dorset. Tea/cake afterwards at the Kingcombe Centre.
Approximately 10 miles, Medium.

Navigation walk - Ham Hill - Mike, Nigel & Stan
Mike, Nigel and Stan are organising a fun navigation day based in the Ham Hill area (near Stoke-sub-Hamdon).
It’s like a normal walk – maybe 6 or 7 miles – but rather than walking with a leader you will set off in pairs and have a series of points to navigate to using the map (and occasionally a compass). Finish with a drink at the Prince of Wales pub.

Walk - Quantocks - Val
SUNDAY. Val C will lead a walk from Holford on the northern Quantocks. About 7 miles.

Walk - Winsham - Sally
SUNDAY. Sally G will lead a walk in the Winsham area on the Dorset/Somerset border. Refreshments at Forde Abbey. 7 miles, easy to moderate.

Walk - South Cadbury - Caroline & Sally
SUNDAY. Caroline & Sally R will lead a walk from South Cadbury. South Cadbury. 9-10 miles taking in Corton Denham and Charlton Horethorne.

Upcoming walk gaps
There's a gap for a local walk on 4/5 October (it's the Dartmouth away weekend), then the next dates needing leaders are 1/2 November and 22/23 November onwards.

Weekend away - Dartmouth - Stan & Philippa
FRI-SUN. This year's Devon weekend will be in south Devon, based on Dartmouth with coastal and riverside walks. Same format as last year - book your own accommodation and optional meal on the Saturday. Now full but contact Stan if you want to go on a reserve list.
Saturday walk upriver to Dittisham, cross over to Greenway and walk back to Kingswear, about 10 miles and 680m of ascent.

Walk - West Somerset Railway - Mike & John
SUNDAY. Mike W & John are leading a walk using the West Somerset Railway, with 8 and 14 mile options. It's the Autumn Steam Weekend, with visiting locomotives as part of the Rail 200 festival. The short version starts from Bishops Lydeard, long version from Combe Florey: both involve a train trip.

Walk - Quantocks - Pete
SUNDAY. Pete w is leading a walk from Bicknoller, via Vinny Combe, Longstone Hill, Halsway Post and Bicknoller Hill. 8 miles with 423m ascent (moderate).

Weekend away - Swanage
FRI-MON. A long weekend at Cliff House, Swanage organised by Fran. It's an 8-bedroomed house with self-catering facilities, within walking distance of the coast and town centre. Kim and Chrissie will lead walks on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday (you don't have to come on them all) and we will have shared meals in the evening.
